Completed Projects...The Wolgast Way.
Primrose Retirement Community
Primrose opened their first Retirement Community in 1991 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Since then, they have been in the business to enrich lives and create a lifestyle for people who are in need of assisted living, memory care or retirement communities.
Founder, James Thares, was seeking a place for his 96 year old grandfather who was otherwise “just sitting at home waiting to die”. He did not find such a place available, so he set out to start his own. He has established a business that has “passion to serve seniors” and has grown to 37 locations in 17 states, including the one that Wolgast is currently building in Midland, Michigan, which is the first in the state.
Primrose feels that its staff is what sets it apart and its Human Resources staff focus to hire from within the local employment market. This effort is essential to helping Primrose achieve its goal of submerging itself into these new places where they’re expanding.
The Midland operation was 10 years in the making as they worked with the City and to find the right property. As Construction Manager and General Contractor, Wolgast and the project team have developed the foundations of the 14 Villas, Clubhouse, Memory Care and Catered Living Amenities. The development offers several living arrangements including assisted living apartments, townhome villas, and memory care. Additionally, the Midland operation features a beauty salon, wellness fitness center, in house chapel, coffee bistro, Movie Theater with popcorn machine and an ice cream parlor.
